We’re delighted to share that our Mansfield service has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), achieving the highest possible rating across all five key areas of inspection: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
This is another significant milestone for us and marks our second Outstanding CQC rating in recent times, following Rotherham achieving an Outstanding rating in June 2025.
The CQC recognised Mansfield for delivering truly person-centred care, highlighting the team’s commitment to understanding every individual and providing support that enables people to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Greg Rielly, CQC’s Deputy Director of Adult Social Care in the East Midlands, said:
“When we inspected Mansfield Supported Living, we found it stood out as a genuinely exceptional service, where the quality of care was making a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.”
He continued:
“What struck our inspectors most was how deeply the team understood each person as an individual. This included their personal histories, communication styles, goals and what mattered to them. Staff used this understanding to shape every aspect of the support people received.”
The inspection also recognised the strength of the leadership team and the collaborative approach taken to supporting people.
“The leadership team created an environment where staff felt genuinely supported, listened to and empowered to raise concerns and challenge practice. Staff also worked closely with healthcare professionals and specialist services to support people’s health, securing funding for community activities, day centre placements and increased one-to-one support where people needed it.”
Congratulating the team, Greg added:
“We’d like to congratulate the whole team at Mansfield Supported Living on these findings. This is the standard of care we hope to see.”
Responding to the Outstanding rating, Helen Stokes, Eden Futures’ Chief Executive Officer, said:
“We are all incredibly proud of this achievement. At the heart of everything we do are our people – the people we support and our incredible colleagues. Being able to evidence the outstanding care and support we provide is an achievement for everyone across Eden Futures.
We pride ourselves on working as one team. From our Support Workers, Service Managers, Area Managers, Operations Managers and Group Operations Director, through to our central support teams including Quality, Health & Safety, Property, Specialist Support, HR and People & Culture, Finance, IT and Marketing, every single person plays an important role. By working together, sharing knowledge and supporting one another, we create joined-up services that achieve the very best outcomes for the people we support. This Outstanding rating belongs to every everyone at Eden Futures, and we couldn’t be more proud.”
As Eden Futures has continued to grow through both new service developments and acquisitions, maintaining consistently high standards of care and support has remained at the heart of everything we do.
Helen continued:
“As our company has grown, it’s been incredibly important to us that the high-quality care and support Eden Futures is known for remains consistent across every service. The trust that the people we support and their loved ones place in us is something we never take for granted. We want every person who chooses Eden Futures to receive the same high-quality care and support, regardless of where they are supported.
We continue to focus on internal auditing, governance and quality across our services. Our strategy is designed to understand and celebrate what’s working well and identify opportunities to become even better. The feedback and learning from internal audits and inspections are shared across the company, helping all of our services continuously improve. We believe that no matter how well we’re doing, there is always an opportunity to learn, develop and raise the bar even further.”
For us, outstanding care starts with outstanding people.
“We know that our colleagues and the culture we create influence the care and support people receive. As a true people’s organisation, our values aren’t simply words – they guide every decision we make and every interaction we have. We’re incredibly proud to have colleagues who have dedicated more than 20 and even 25 years of service to Eden Futures, and our staff turnover is just 15%, significantly below the sector average. We believe that’s a reflection of the supportive culture we’ve built together and the commitment our colleagues show to the people we support.”
Eden Futures’ commitment to investing in people was recognised nationally when we were awarded Platinum Investors in People accreditation in June 2025 – the highest standard of excellence for organisations that demonstrate outstanding leadership, people management and workplace culture.
Achievements like this give us the opportunity to celebrate, but they also reinforce our commitment to keep learning, listening and improving. Every inspection, every piece of feedback and every experience helps us continue raising the standard of care and support we provide.
Concluding, Helen said:
“Adult social care is one of the most rewarding sectors to work in, but it is also one of the most demanding. It’s a sector that continues to evolve, often against a backdrop of uncertainty and increasing complexity. Despite those challenges, our colleagues continue to show extraordinary compassion and dedication every single day.
I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved together. This Outstanding rating is a celebration of every colleague across Eden Futures and, most importantly, of the positive difference they make to the lives of the people we support. While we’re taking time to celebrate this achievement, we’re equally committed to continuing to learn, continuously improve and build on this success. The people we support deserve nothing less, and that’s what will continue to drive us every day.”
